Fabulous, Fun Activities!

And the winner of the Poll Question is…..Fun Event Activities!

Depending on the type of event you’re hosting adding some fun activities is a sure way to get your guests excited and enthusiastic about being there.

1. Corporate Team Builder Events: Team outings are a great way to facilitate bonding with your team members, reduce employee stress, and give them the chance to get to know one another outside of the office. Here are a few suggestions:
  • Scavenger Hunt – Plan a day at an outdoor location, break everyone out into groups, and have a scavenger hunt. Your team will feel nice and rejuvenated after some fresh air and fun challenges.
  • Cook-Off - Creating new dishes together requires creativity and will require everyone to put their team and leadership skills into action.
  • Kayaking/Canoeing - Nothing says "let's work together" quite like trying not to end up in the water.
  • Karaoke Night - What better way to get your employees to break out of their shells than to have them get up and sing some karaoke?
  • Laser Tag - Not only is it great fun, it's also an opportunity for employees to exercise their strategy and logic skills, as well as teamwork skills.

2. Kid Events – When it comes to the kids there are numerous activities that can positively thrill them.
  • Outdoor -  bouncy castles, obstacle course, trampolines and rappelling (safety must always be a priority).
  • Indoor -  magic shows, puppet shows and concerts, face painting and balloon twisting, various games.
  • Educational – arts and craft, painting, building/constructing items.

3. Family Reunions – If you love getting together with family and friends, here are some great ideas that will help you make memorable moments.
  • Games – egg and spoon race, lawn bowling, sack races, relay races and water balloon toss.
  • Competitions – Obstacle course, jigsaw puzzle race, eating contests, family trivia contests and a family parade.

4. Baby Shower – There is absolutely nothing wrong with sharing a few words of wisdom with the mom to be, and obviously, everyone enjoys seeing the adorable bay things that are unwrapped. But a celebration should be full of laughter and fun too. So why not add a few fun baby shower games?
  • Don’t Say Baby - Mum's the word when it comes to saying 'baby'! Give each guest a diaper pin to wear. If anyone hears someone else saying the forbidden word, he or she can steal the rule breaker's pin. At the end of the game, the person with the most pins wins a gift.
  • Guess the Baby Food - Gather seven to ten unique flavors of baby food jars, number each lid and tear off the labels. Ask each guest to grab a spoon and start sampling!
  • Guess the Mother's Measurements - Pass around a ball of yarn and a pair of scissors. Tell each guest to cut off a length of string that they think corresponds to the size of the honoree's belly.
  • Baby Items in the Bag - Put at least ten common, useful baby items inside a diaper bag; a bib, teething ring, rattle, bottle and diaper are just a few goodies that are also fairly inexpensive. Give each guest two minutes to feel around without looking and guess what the items are.

5. Dinner PartiesHere are some popular and fun adult dinner party games that you may want to consider for your next dinner party. These games were chosen because they all known for getting a fun (often funny) flow of conversations started.

  • Great Minds Think Alike - Create 10 categories and divide guests into two teams. Supply a pen and paper to each person. Call out a category. Everyone must write the first three things that come to their mind. Award points based on words team members had in common.
  • Celebrity: Who am I? - When each guest arrives pin a card onto the back of their shirt, so they cannot see who is written on the card. Every guest gets a card and they must mingle and ask other guests questions to try and figure out who they are.
  • Guess that Slogan - You’ll need to come up with some famous or popular slogans. Call out a slogan and see who can guess what product or company it belongs to first.
  • Ask me about…. - Prior to the party create a bunch of name tags that start with “Ask me about”. Then add fun topic to each one.
  • Lyric Recall - In this party game the guests will be divided into groups of two. Draw out a lyric word from a hat and give both teams three minutes to compile a list of as many songs as they can think of that has that word in it.

Last but not least, one of the most popular activities which is suitable for most any type of event are photo booths where guests get the opportunity to dress up in party favors and take fun photos together!

Do you have any fun activities to share from an event you attended or any innovative ideas of your own?
